Eikemo Mountain Pasture Trail
Experience the Cultural Heritage of Åkra Fjord - a fjord landscape inaccessible by road
Eikemo - a place you would never think it was possible to live. Experience mountain farm life complete with goats, summer pastures, and the people who live here in surroundings of stunning natural beauty.
The trip commences by boat from Teigland (Åkrafjordtunet) over to the pier at Bakka. From here, we continue by tractorsafari up along the steep mountainside. Once up, the landscape opens out and we pay a visit to the charming Eikemo farm. We continue our trip up towards the Eikemo summer pastures where goat farming is carried on and we can taste goat milk and Chèvre. There is the option of a hike in Bjønndalen Valley where the view of Langfoss Waterfall on the opposite side of the fjord is only fabulous.
Lunch consists of tasty locally produced cured meats before once again taking the boat on the final highlight of our tour; beautiful Langfoss Waterfall as seen from the fjord.
